Fuel Pumps

There were several mechanical fuel pumps made for the VW. I want to get one of the rebuildable ones to replace the Mexican unit on my 1500. Which one should I be on the lookout for? Is there one that is preferred to all the others?
Thanks,

I think '72 and later are the non rebuildable type. Earlier ones used screws to hold it all together, and are rebuildable with a kit.
