WHAT'S UP WID DA BOOM BOOM???

« on: October 12, 2007, 03:16:32 am »

Spending four days this week at the AACA Fall Meet in Hershey.  Largest antique auto swap meet in the world.  Anyhow, I roll into a nice tent full of books hoping maybe, just maybe, they'll have an old copy of the Cal-Look Bible.  Sure enough, there it is...

Pull out the cash envelope and pay the big bucks...$9 USD.  Happy happy happy.

 Grin

Thank-you Keith, excellent book.

Just finished 3 days in the flea market, and I'm hammered.  No other good scores except I bought 3 crappy headlight rings to get a Hella SB12.  And it has a big, nasty dent in it.  Oh well, it is the first one I've ever seen.

SB-12 were only used on early 67s. If you've got a later 67 you should send all SB-12 rings to me, I've got 2 December 66 -67s Grin

They are just anatomically correct for the early 67s and not after market crap. If you have 66 style seats and sun visors, you have an early 67.

I do believe they are chrome-plated brass.  Some people go nuts for them--I could care less if I ever put any on my car, but I do check loose rings at swap meets just for the fun of it.

Hella SB12's were used on 67 Type 1 from Aug 66 thu mid march 67 They are made of brass VW made them in Brass so the Hella emblem and SB12 could be stamped in easy if they are just small dents in them they can be fixed easy  but since they are Brass you have to Watch who you have Chrome Plate them because they can Buff the Emblem right off the only thing hard part to fix on them is if there cracked at the screw hole Hella SB12's also came on 66 and 67 Type III's and are in better shape most of the time because they are higher on the fender
