Hello,

I recently picked up a pair of rectangular IDF air filters with 1/2” velocity stacks cast into the bases.  Nice shape, it looks like someone painted them gold at one point.

Question 1:  Does anyone have any history on these, who carried them, or know when they started showing up?  I’ve got an 8/85 Bugpack catalog that shows a version of them, and I’ve seen pics of them here and there with Redline logos cast into the tops, but I haven’t really seen them much besides that.

Question 2:  Would the short 1/2” stacks hurt power on a mild 2-liter compared to standard 1-5/8” stacks on a pair of 40DRLAs?  It seems they were made for a Type 3 application, but . . . curious.   With taller filters, of course.

Thanks.
