Hi,
Read the topic of the 7" Fuchs wheels. Anyone knows if it fits on a Ghia pre -64? I have seen 6" Fuchs on them. How about the 7" ?

they will fit if use use short axles 66 and older with drilled and studed Drum Rear brakes you might have to roll the inner lip in a bit but if the car has ever been hit in the rear or the side 1/4 it might not clear on the side that was hit

In the past if something lighty rubbed, I would take a plastic or wooden rod that almost fit between tire and fender lip and start some where it fit and just turn wheel slow until in rotaded and cleared. It shrinks fender flange so lip will clear. Hopefully That helps

I've seen that the 7x15" was offered in both offset 49 mm and 23,3 mm. Which one did you use?

Is that the difference between 911 and 944 offset that I've heard?

we used to always jack the car up a little and put the small end of a baseball bat in between the tire and fender and just rotate the bat with the tire that also rolls the lip on the inside

Is that the difference between 911 and 944 offset that I've heard? The two different offsets you're thinking of applies to a 16x8 wheel. It's got a 951 part number since it only came on the 944 Turbo.

The Uber Rare 49mm offset wheels will probably require a spacer if you're using an early swing axle car with short axles. It will fit an IRS car without a spacer and give way more fender clearance for a bigger tyre. Beware, you're gonna need $3-5k for a pair.

when doug put the 7's with 185/70's on the back of the 69 Irs ghia we had to roll the left fender with a dowel for the tire not to rub, the right side had plenty of room. My 71 911 T was the same way, gobs of room on the right side but none on the left side. Also he had to cut the axels at the cotter pin hole so the caps would fit. then he used loctite on the nuts

I used 205-15 on 7's on my black '67 KG with short axles and redrilled drums. Rolled the fender lips with small bb bat, never had a problem, I'm trying to find a picture of it with the 7's

my 70 ghia had 215/60 - 15's on the rear, to make them fit the rear inner fender wells were cut , bulged open and fiberglassed up, the rear of the body had to be cut upward 3" or so to let the metal bulge out, then finished smooth.
