They're never done till they're sold

Alright, I've have a good look at this last night but now I can't figure out how to get it to work...

This is what I have, a Superior 500 wheel on a Grant boss and my Formula F horn button that he picked up at VoWo show for next to nothing... I quite like the look of it, makes me think of leather wrapped Empi wheel!

Then, this is what the horn button looks like from the back, still gotta open up the right holes though...

So, I've already had a look and I will have to space the horn as the dish of the wheel is too deep. Now, my first thoughts where to mount a button/switch between the wheel and the formula button and keep a very tiny gap to make horn work when i press the formula button. But now I don't even know how mount the formula button at all. I can get the leather off of it. But I cannot open it to insert bolts or nuts...

Any ideas?

Please help, cos I think combined with the 914 seats and harness it would look pretty cool!

in the center there is one hole with treads in them. really small but that can do the trick to hold the spring and horn. i will try to make something for mine and post it. but i will take a little (as usual)

OK here is what i have been doing the past weekend. i machined a plastic part with a grove to hold a spring and made a spring big enough to clear the bubble on the steeringwheel

i had the copperplated part still on my wheel and that is a big plus as it clears the big nut that fastens the steeringwheel and acts as a stop/contact point for the horn.
thanks to Kurt for the pictures as i had an idea what i needed to make. the only thing i haven't made yet is the spring that clicks onto the padded horn itself. my horn is broken ( the inner plastic has two cracks) so there was no point in making the spring for me.

here is what i used:

one spring in a diameter bigger then the bubble i.e. 36mm and more. a light one will do the trick
one screw from a tailight (because it has no treads on the upper part and slides better
one ring with a notch to clear the head of the screw and so it doesn't bump the padded horn when pushed. this is not necessary as you can make a small dimple in the plastic part as well.
one screw on the bottomside of the plastic ring that clamps the eart cable and can make contact with the steeringwheel.
and i used a rubber to have some extra clearance as my plastic was a little too thin. it should be around 12 to 15 mm, mine was 10.

hope it helps or if i can help someone out i can make the erthlon part for you.

i will let you know if it works as i havent tested it yet before taking pics
