Runs with Scissors

Just spent three hours at the eye Dr's having a metal fragment removed from my eye. Hurts like a cast iron son of a bitch. (And yes I was wearing a face shield.) He couldn't get it all out but it doesn't look like there will be any permanent damage. Anyway, I am off to try and get some sleep. Be safe when working on your VWs.

Dang, Louis... glad to hear that you're okay. Could've been a lot worse.

Ouch! Been there, done that. The best part is when they give you the anesthetic eye drops – suddenly the pain goes away (for a few minutes while they get the big needle out...).  Angry

Hope your OK, Louis....sheeeeesh, nothing worse then that!  While working as a mechanic years ago, I was under a crusty 912 poking at the muffler and had some rust flakes find their way into my eye.  OW OWOWWWWWOW (voice of Curly) from the Three Stooges)!!!

that sucks louis, I hate getting crap in my eyes (I wear rigid contact lenses).
I remember getting a foxtail under my eyelid and stuck under edge of lens....  and I am allergic to weeds.

Eye injuries are the very worst. One time, came home to my parents' house @ 3am, cough cough, took my contacts out, put them in case, half asleep, grabbed "the white bottle" on the bathroom counter, filled the case up, went to bed. Next day put my lenses in and instant atomic pain in the eyes. The white bottle was my sisters hair conditioner crap, not lens cleaner.
My eyes were done for.

Hope you feel better.

my wife is adamant about me wearing eye protection too after seeing me grinding on stuff out there and seeing the trail of debris and sparks. Really, it's stupid to work unprotected.

get better.... you need to finish that '67  Grin

Nothing worse than getting shit in your eyes when you do have eye protection on. I've been in the metal working industry since 1994, most of the time not wearing any safety glasses and the only time I get shit in my eyes is on my drive home or on my lunch break.  Roll Eyes
