They're ugly. Practical, maybe, but still ugly... But what's the alternative in a hot climate?

I painted mine satin black, so you almost can't tell that the car has popouts  + they match the other chromeless windows...  I like them this way and they are practical, wouldn't like to miss them.

I've always liked the way the pop-outs look in my bug, plus they cut down on wind noise on the highway.

They are a absolute MUST when running with the top down in a ragtop!

When I built my first Cal Look VW in 1979, pop-out windows did nothing for me. As I got older, I made a vow that my next Beetle would have them. When my friend and I found my current '67, it was exactly what I was looking for: no sunroof, pop-outs, and a late model with the late lowback seats that I like so much. It's a dream come true for me.

Like everything in life, it's all matter of personal taste. There are no rules. They're not for everyone. Many people don't care for the looks. Personally, I like the way they look and I love using them. To each their own.

I personally think they look great! Especially on early cars.

I will be running them on my cal look 58 ragtop, with chrome trim on the rubbers as well. Maybe not traditional cal look, but i like it.

I have had pop-outs on most of my cars. They are functional and that is enough for me.

Pop outs look great and when there open you can hear the induction noise much better  Cool Oh and if you have a sunroof they are a must to stop that damned drumming noise when you are driving Roll Eyes

I love everything about them except when idiots throw their flyers into my car through the open pop outs at the shows.

Yeah, what's up with THAT? I've noticed at the last several VW events where my car's displayed... those 'tards are droppin' SPAM crap in my car. NO BUENO! I better not ever catch 'em doing it. So, at the recent VW PANIC, I barely opened my pop-outs and locked 'em in that position. HAHA!! Not one flier on my back seat. Same with my wing-vents... no crud on my front seats. I was lurking (Schwimmer style) and watching them look around my car and they'd keep on going to the next victim. Funny stuff.

We should get some tasers. I bet it would cut down on the flyers!

I think they look very cool, wish I could put them on my 56, unfortunately I have these stickers on the windows that I can't part with.

Jim, you're right... you gotta save those ¼ windows for the stickers. But, if you want pop-outs, install a set and hit up Randy for a new set of stickers. That's what Ramirez is up against, like you. His standard windows have the original stickers on the inside. I'm the same way, I didn't want my original stickers being used, so I'm running the new ones.

Just a suggestion.

Pop-outs are ugly, especially with 1 piece window. And as for the ragtop argument, well ragtops and sunroofs are ugly too...

There you go i said it!

Not if you go for that antique car look....
