A few images... enjoy.

Master Of Ceremonies... Mr. Dyno Don Chamberlain. Greeting the racers in the staging lanes, as it were. Thanks, Don, for handing me the microphone and giving a shout out for D.K.K. You're still a class act, after all of these years, my friend.

This reminded me of being in Kindergarten... but without the feckless roof bling.

Stephan and I both agreed that this is one cool Porsche.

Another view.

Tod's left front.

An air-cooled engine's idea of a splitting headache?

Trick Or Cheat, anyone?

I was parked west of this car.

Don't leave your Type 2 in the dryer too long.

Beautiful car.

What can I say? I have a soft spot for orange Volkswagens.

Fast K.G.

Very nice K.G.

Sometimes... life in the pits is a good thing.

Other times... we see our friends in the staging lanes of life.

Bird's eye view of the show area.

Among the VW goodies in the swap meet area... something us older people will remember with great memories.

Cool lil' Fiat.

On the outside, looking in. (apologies to Danny Elfman and Oingo-Boingo)

D. Berg and the other 15 Powder Puff girls were there, having fun, and rightly so.

Lotta nice cars that weren't in the show, all over the facility.

I've always dug on Bay Window crew cabs since they were new.

M.C. Dyno had to take a break for lunch to refuel. All of that energy doesn't happen on it's own, ya know?

These three DEEKS brought out their Cal Look VW cars.

As always, 'twas nice seeing a few of you, there.

Good report Mark!

Thanks for the photos... Drag Day was a lot of fun as usual. It was great to see the yellow '67 Vert stateside... I've never seen it in person, only in photos and on YouTube... an awesome ride.

It seems every year you see more and more turbo cars... more bang for the buck I guess. I like to watch 'em run, but I still prefer a healthy IDA motor.

Definately good times.

  Great event yesterday!
Awesome shots once again Mark, nice seeing you there even though it was for a fleeting moment. I didn't win this time but the car ran good and is still in one piece and I had lots of fun. True Sarge you missed out it was a great turnout only one oil down super smooth program.

Another view.

... and it ran an 11.0 first time out at the track (September '08 Sacramento Bugorama).
The owner is a cool dude, too.

Great event overall. The new Outlaw Turbo class was amazing to watch. 17 cars entered the class for 8 qualifying spots. Out of those 8 cars, the fastest time (Eric Calabrese's Red Baron) was 5.57; the slowest 6.58. Pretty insane. Calabrese's 5.57 (at 131mph or 210 kim/h!) equates to 8.60 on the quarter-mile. The engines is still a "small" 2276cc, and Eric & crew even replaced the EFI/intercooler with a carburetor to follow the class' rules.

No, Fabian... the only people that I see in the picture are Tod Fuller, Mark Ramirez, his son, Tod's friend (Matt), and my girlfriend sitting in my beach chair. I called Rick right before the event and he was considering going... but he opted out.

Thanks for the kind words regarding my pics, everyone. We had fun, that day. Got to take the '67 out on a long drive and enjoyed some of my company's race fuel (113oct. leaded/blue VP Racing Fuel). I forgot how sweet that smell is.
