Pauter powered 65 street car build,
Hello I have owned this car since 1997, in that time its had a few engine and transmission combo's, firstly it had a 1500 40hp okrasa engine with a berg five, then a Berg 2007cc ida engine, then in 1999 I pulled it off the road as the cam went flat in the motor and It has been off the road ever since.
Over the last few years I have been collecting up engine parts and transmission parts to build up something special. Like all projects, it has got out of control, but it will be ok. It was going to have a TF1 case with a Geers roller cam conversion, but after some quality issues with the TF1 case, I decided to step up to a pauter after seeing what Don Pauter was doing with his Ghia.
Don has been a great help with this engine project, They offer really good service and back up.
Over the last few months I have been doing alot of work in the engine bay to allow the huge pauter roccker covers to fit. My aim from the start of this project was to make it look like it was done in the factory, no cut off saws and calling the job done here.
The 65 bug is now rolling on a 98 mexican pan converted to IRS, with a bus box.
I will add pictures as the project progress
heres what I have for now.
Thanks for looking, David Gouk.

The engine will be cooled by a genuine  porsche fan, Don gave me a fibreglass shroud as a starting ponit, and I will build one from scratch with internal directional vanes to direct the cooling air.

The engine is 86x101.6mm,2789cc, the pauter block is set with the autocraft stud pattern. I am using one of Roger Crawfords nice cranks, along with some of pauters lightweight N/A 5.7" rods.

Its still coming along! Berg bus 5 Has been ordered, pan 80% complete. Next big project is to get the heads done, finalise engine width, then make a porsche fan shroud. The engine bay will be sealed like stock.
