So a few weeks ago I was in past a local VW garage and the owner says do you want a beetle for free, take it away...... wow !

So my son and i have a look, yip it needs some work, but that car looks like ive seen it before...... Well this car was owned by the mum of a guy that was at school with me and lived about a 1000yrds down the road..... it was left outside in the back garden for years under a tree then moved into a lock up for the last 10 or so years. It came from the local VW agent in 72 and she has kept it all this time, with a ull VW service history book stamped, its only been welded twice at the area around the jacking points, it needs a bit more now but i thinks its worth it.... enjoy

PS not the classic 1 owner barn find we all dream about but it is a 1 owner and was found........ Grin

Post this on Restowagen and the reply would be "Slam it on earlies and roll with it", or something like that! Good find! Cool

That's funny....I have to say I really dislike the whole "Patina" movement.  But hey, maybe the car's worth more with "aged rust" than without it?
Great find!! Bring it back to it's original glory...with more Power and performance of course!!
