Zenith blue car with moldings and with 5-lug satin Centerlines?

(I want to show DKK Fred an idea I have)

KG with mahle 914/6 "gas burners"? Seems like I've never seen a KG with them.

how about BRM's with platinum-graphite grey spoke inserts instead of black?

Cool looking cars. Aftermarket wheels, in my opinion for my cars, are something that I admire from afar. Other than BRMs, I cannot stand wheels that are not o.e.m. made. Out all of 'em I don't like Centerlines the most.

Sorry, Jim. But you DID get my attention on the satin wheel part. Do go on, please.

Centerlines ROCK Mark!  You are high.  One of my all time favorites!  Nothing like off sets on the front and black drums showing.....  Looks mean and nasty (and sexy).  Think Mike Smith.

2 cents.

You can bag the burners.  No thank you there.  Never understood the interest in burners.  They remind me of oem mercedes wheels from the 80's.  Not intended to offend.  Just an old dudes opinion.  Can I toss in Rivieras in the trash file while Im at it?Huh?  Hah!

Ah, yah know I am really digging the Ansen slots these days.  Dont know why........  Nostalgia?  I had never seen them on a cal look car here ever.  So far as I can remember.  It was always some ya-hoo's car with flared fenders and a whip antennea running those.  But now...............

And hey, run what you like.  What makes you happy.  Hell I ran friggin 8 spokes for awhile.     Did I hijack this thread with my bullshit?

CARRY ON..........................

Bleah. Even if you paid me a salary to bolt those things on my car, I'd decline. If I wanna show my black drums, I'll run my 356 wheels sans caps.

Cripes! And I'M high? HAHA!!

Oh, goodie... multiple queries, which receive multiple answers. In order:

Will do.
Yes.
I'm sorry and deepest condolences. But, hey... many of us went through that phase and lived to tell about it.
Yes... yes, you did. Next time, do a better job.

Sorry, Jim. Carry on.

ok Fred, sorry to hear you don't care for Centerlines. Wow ...something you and I don't agree on.  Grin
(personally I think the open center 5-lug Centerlines would look just right on your car, with T bars, but I digress)

The gas burners on KG, in my opinion, do not look good. I am losing my fondness for those wheels. I guess the cars I have "grown up" seeing them on are still good looking... Galassi's trucks, Kaforski's car... but beyond that, this is my least fave "cal look" or Porsche wheel.

The gray-spoked BRM... I was looking for a few shades darker. I'm thinking about doing the spokes on my Japanese BRMs in a dark platinum grey (not as light grey as Jim Lowe's [now Steph S'] white oval ran in the 80's). Think anthracite.

Thanks guys

I know I've said this before, but about a year ago I woke up one morning and just didn't like paint-detailed Mahles anymore.  Original silver, yes, but it has to be on the right car.

I think what did it for me was a pic of a plain, black '67 with a mustachio'd head porter standing next to it.  Original silver 'Burners.   Cool

Not that anyone cares...   Lips Sealed

No worries... we all have differing tastes, thankfully. But I do agree with you; the car would look good. I just wouldn't like it.

I grew up around those wheels, too. There's only been one way I like 'em... all silver, the way that the factory offered 'em.

The gray-spoked BRM... I was looking for a few shades darker. I'm thinking about doing the spokes on my Japanese BRMs in a dark platinum grey (not as light grey as Jim Lowe's [now Steph S'] white oval ran in the 80's). Think anthracite.

I'd paint your wheels anthracite but with a slight metallic to it. Because your car also has that. It would look REAL good, in my opinion. Not too dark, nor too light. A medium shade would do rather nicely.
