Hi, have a colleague who is on a 5 week and 5 week work rotation between Ireland and Malaysia.

my rotation stint to and fro Alaska is coming to an end, sadly.

Just wondering is there are any shops near where he lives; Westmeath, Mullingar, about 65kms from Dublin.

he is more than willing to help to bring in bits and pieces of parts for me

any local Irish forums with active classifieds would be nice too!!

thanks

Hi,
The best person to talk to would be Ben Byrne www.benbyrnevws.ie as he is closest to where your friend is. Martin Murray (Eirespares +353 62 76177) has a wealth of knowledge regarding EMPI and NOS parts as well as having a good personal stash of parts - not always for sale but you can try! He is much further away in Tipperary but not more than 3 hours at most. He doesn't do websites and struggles with email but prefers to do his dealings face to face.
We have a national club www.eircooled.com which caters for all aspects of the aircooled scene. Everyone there is very friendly and welcoming as I have found here so your friend will get a lot of help..........unless he is a cranky old shite and we'll tell him to feck off  Grin
Ben Byrne was working with GSF on a full time basis then on a part time basis for the last few months as he set up his business and after the Volksworld Show he will be full time in setting up his VW business. He's a really enthusiatic guy and has a lot of spare parts, project cars & great connections within the VW scene in Ireland and the UK.
I myself am a feature writer for Volksworld so I have the pleasure of calling Ivan my boss!........I call him may things but I won't go there  Tongue  I'm based in Ireland and will certainly help your friend out in any way I can. I can be contacted here or www.eircooled.com under the user name 'coxy'
If you need anything else just let me know.
Cheers
Cathal O'Toole
