Whose stupid idea was that?

« on: February 20, 2010, 01:21:30 am »

Gentlemen across the Atlantic......  Does anyone know where I can buy the short dash vents that came standard on the 68up Type 1's WITHOUT the dash pad?  All I can find over here are the tall US versions (w/pad).  There HAS to be a source for the flush type units.  . Please advise if possible.
My vert does not have a dash pad and I have tried to modify the 67 vents by cutting and splicing and it's not clean enough.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The center one I used from a 67.  It looks and fits perfect.  The ones I need are the shorter units on the outside ends.  (see picture/red circles)

I can't find these anywhere.  The second pic shows how I modified them to fit.  Not clean enough.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Yes if you have them I would like to get them from you.  Please let me know by pm.

THANKS GUYS!

You need 2 x 113-819-635 Dash vents for the metal dash.

These are available form either VW Dealers or Heritage VW etc about £5.00/$8.00 each  Smiley

Dont think the ones I have will be of any use here as they are the duel vent type that blows at you with a vent facing you too .
