Deano Dyno Soars full flow kit

I just picked up this 1971 DDS 130 full flow kit.  It's unused in the box.  I think it's only missing the filter and the filter adapter.  A few questions on this baby:

1.  Are the 4 blue AN fittings original to the kit?
2.  I guess the two silver fittings are the ones that screw into the case?  Why are there two?
3.  Did the kit have only the 6 fittings, or am I missing some?
4.  Does anyone have any missing parts for sale, in particular, the filter adapter?

Mike, I want to say that I do not believe that this kit came with blue anodized AN fitting, but I could be wrong. Since we are talking about 1969-1971ish, those fitting could have been a little pricey for us VW thugs. Super find, that's for sure. That pump cover is one of the later ones, with Deano and NPR on it. The first ones only had Deano on it. Those pumps were known tang breakers....Very cool!

P.S. Just saw the awsome vintage speed display at the WinterJam in Daytona Beach. Chad's collections is world class. He had a 1971 Deano catalog with Motion Mini Car stamped on the front. Super rare to see both DDS and Billy Mitchell together in print...(that was Mitchell's secret source)....

Empicollector, I looked at Nostabug's pics and his oil lines appear identical to mine, with the metal tag wrapped around it and also the aluminum screw in plugs. Also, although incorrectly fitted to the pump covers, his blue AN fittings appear identical to the ones I have.

So I'm going to conclude that the blue AN fittings did come with the kits.

I may have more NOS DDS parts to post up in the future, the guy I got this from is sifting through his parts looking for more.

Well, Mike, I guess we all learned something more about DDS. When I purchased my DDS pump directly from them, I only got the pump itself, but got the AN lines, filter and base elsewhere.... not sure where. Auto Haus?

You actually lived it, I'm just going off a few pics....so I could be wrong.....but the chance of the same blue anodized fittings appearing in my kit and Nostabugs is probably pretty low....

Deano, the Dds instructions said the street cars usualy mounted these on the engine mount....any idea what that means?

A lot of guys hung the actual oil filter block on the cross bar under the motor and ran the hoses to it.  I seem to remember Frenchy did this on his white 67, if I can remember right.  I never liked hanging mine that low. I made my own lines and ran my filters off a bracket I made to bolt on with the bumper/nerf bars and hung the filter mount in the fenderwell out of harms way. 

There are plenty of old school guys that can probably sent you a shot of the filter mount hung on the rear engine bar (BERG STYLE rear motor support).

I guess Deano was talking about the transmission saddle? We always placed our filter adapter on the thermostat 8mm stud on the right side of the case. You usually had to back off the stud slightly, to get enough threads to add a nut to the mount.

I saw your photos of the instructions, but what I would like to have is a full frame scan, or Xerox copies, of just the instructions and not a photo.

Thanks Richard, now we have three confirmations. 

Cool pic Deano, the 71 catalog is my favorite. All I have is a color printed copy from Dave Mayes' old site.

Rick and Deano, you are exactly correct. I read the instructions I posted above again and a race motor mounted off the thermostat stud and a street motor mounted off the DDS501 traction bar. Would love to see a pic of one mounted that way if someone has one.  Speedwell we need you now!!

The 2 dds full flow kits I had (1 was NOS) were fitted with blue anodised AN fittings too.

What I was told recently, part of the reason NPR placed both their name and Deano on the pump cover (and 92s), was they were secretly grinding off the Deano name when they sold them out the back door.....

Dean those are cool pics.  The Lowrys seem to really have gotten hosed in their business dealings. Kinda like Bruce Meyers but I know Bruce fought for years.  Shame.
