Just curious if ANYONE out there from days gone away(69-74)Orange County/ remembers bruce Felker ? I was just going through some of my memorabilia from bug in 13 and noticed that he won A/MC /I won bracket #3...this is very interesting to me personally as he made a BIG impression with myself and a wide array of others who use to watch him street race back from  when "Big Willie" and The Brotherhood of Street Racers were organizing back in the late 60's  and use to hang out at a place I used to work at tending burgers @ Circus Wagon Hamburgers on harbor and orangewood in anaheim. I use to watch Bruce literally Kick Ass on any and all V8's he encountered with his sheepish maroon sedan profiling an awesome 48 IDA equipped 1835..!! He was from the Santa Ana area as I last recall and was just wondering if ANYONE knew Bruce and or where I could contact him. It was so cool when over 300 people would scurry about to go to Nabisco in Buena park to see this VW take on all ccomers like...GTX John/Rod Mundy/"wacky Racer"with his chevy big block"seasoned by 'Big Alex" if memory serves me right/and the guys from the "speed center "in westminster(names escape me(js)and a host of others long gone by now im sure. The gruff "Big Jim" organized the races with his ruddy voice and there was a fellow from Oregon named Craig with a 67/68 camaro who had one of the (Most Bitchin sounding small blocks EVER) with a wild roller cam that when provoked was the mother of ALL engines that could be heard above ALL OTHERS...a true knarley EASY 10 second ride im sure/way back then. Bruce was the man however with his performance driven sedan and was wondering where he is after all these years gone bye....any fill in here would be most appreciated...thanks, Dyno Don

I remember Bruce's car, we met up with him at a street race with my friends Camaro, we just barely lost to him and became friends right after that. I still remember he use to drive around with just squirrel cage fans for cooling. Last I heard Roger Crawford bought his car a long time ago.

As far as the guy that worked at J&S Speed that had the Silver Camaro Z-28, that would be Rick Solis, SP? I knew him very well, it probably was one of the badest cars around the OC in the 70s...Good Times!

hey Dom....yes, JS speed center/I remember Rick....although his camaro was fast//Craigs camaro was REALLY FAST..!!  so you do remember Bruces sedan/forget the year..fill me in if you remember...im sure your race was a good one as all yours usually were....do you remember Ricks friend with the grey 56 with a knarled out big block??? I think his name was keith or another Rick perhaps /went by the name of "Whacky Racer"...went to a street race and I was the youngest pre adult there huddled up with a bunch of very large saliva dripping die hards waiting to collect some big dough. (Can still hear the wicked burnouts )as he woooped up on an el camino from placentia called the "Headhunter"...thought i was going to see a war break out when the losing camino kept going and the group refused to pay up....some 40 years ago.... damn that was fun..!!

I remember the cars but not the people. If you remember the 70's then you weren't there:)

Bruce Felker.....I remember him and his car well. A lightweight big window Burgundy sedan, a highly stressed 1835, FAT trans. Ran slicks on the street,
and if I recall turned consistant 12.50's (maybe quicker)in the 1/4. He wasn't on the scene for very long, just long enough to beat me at a Bug-In, when I shredded another 2nd gear.  I seem to recall he ran at a NHRA pts. meet (winternationals)? outcome, unknown. But I do remember he and I had the
quickest street VW's in OC at the time......a long time ago.
