His name was Mike Griswold, he built VW powered frames (Grizzly Chassis) for the Mear's gang and others back in the early 70's. Even had a article wrote about him in 1970 in Hot VW's. His car's raced at Ascot, Pikes Peek, Bonneville, etc. He had a shop in Lakewood/Whittier area and was an Industrial Arts teacher @ Warren High.

The reason I asked is I picked up this mid engined type 3 powered T bucket from his estate, it seems he and his students built it back in 74'/75', the car was at the Bug In by the late 70's

Anyone remember him or this car, and pictures etc....I know it's not cal look but I need something for my scrapbook. You guys are good, someone out there knew him...Thanks.

I'm assuming this was at the Bug In ?   He used to trailer it and a bunch of cars on his Grizzly Hauler

yes I have....Trying to find other info or pictures.  The car has a tube frame, Fiat 850 front suspension/brakes with Armstrong shocks/upper control arm. It has a MG rack & pinion steering. The engine (type 3) is under seat area, type 1 trans (IRS). All tubular rear suspension, front portion of side pipes are fake, rear area of collector each bank of cylinders runs through them.

I'm in the process of restore and updates. I would love to get other story's and pictures

Do these pictures even look like they were taken at the Bug In. Would love to see other pictures of the car. It was at the Bug In between 75' and 78', because in 79' it was back in MN at the NSRA. Did anyone get any pictures of it by chance.
