This past weekend Wolfsburg Registry member Terry Skinner organized his annual Prescott run.  We me at at local Home Depot and caravanned to Prescott Arizona from Phoenix.  We took the scenic route making it a longer and slower trip compared to the return trip.  We stopped in Wickenburg for breakfast.  I clocked about 120 miles from the starting point to the end in Prescott.  I have attached a few photos from the trip.  We met up with Zach who helped Terry out with a little welding when an air cleaner post broke and the air cleaner had to be rescued from behind the fan housing.  Nor real problems other than that except that Terry also lost a center cap off the right real wheel.  I stopped, but couldn't find it so we continued on without issues.  Had a great hamburger in the Palace Saloon and washed it down with a Stella...

The red Ghia belongs to Jeff Stewart former president of Wolfsburg Registry.  There are some more photos at the website:  http://wolfsburgregistry.ning.com/photo

The engine that I had rebuilt not that long ago provided plenty of power and on the way home I cruised at about 80 mph for a little over an hour.  Gas mileage could have been better, but wasn't really that bad just under 20 MPG.  Never got hot.  Highest temp was about 205f and not for long.  Mostly about 195f.  Sure was fun and stoked my fires to get more done.  Talked with Zach about having him do some work on my interior which is showing it's age.  The car was done over 15 years ago and needs a lot of work to bring it back.  I will be working on that after my part time job goes away next month.

Donny
Are those pics near Zachs shop? I have to go up there for work in the next couple of weeks and would love to see his handy  work first hand.

No they are not near his shop.  It was just a spot where we pulled in to discuss where we were all going to go in town.  Some went to Zach's shop to get Terry's air cleaner post repaired and the rest went into town.  I went straight to the Palace Saloon.  The others joined us there after fixing Terry's car and even Gary Berg stopped by to say hi.

Cheesy I believe he prefers "Howie" Wink

Next year you should plan on staying the night at one of the historic hotels downtown. The Hassayampa Inn, Hotel St. Micheal, or Hotel Vendome are all very good Wink

Staying overnight sounds like a good idea and I think we will plan on that next year.
