Driving Hot VWs for 44 Years Strong!

« on: October 07, 2010, 02:47:38 am »

I have revamped about everything on my chop, from the EMPI style decklid to converting it back to a 67 apron, etc.  So, after seeing the cool heat shield Danny Gabbard built for his car, I took a stab at fabbing one for my 67 rear apron.  It is not done and sanded out yet but I thought I'd post a couple shots.  The rear apron and heat shield will both be removable, so it makes the whole fab part easier.  It will make getting the motor in and out of the car easier too.

Here are a couple progress shots.  When I get the whole rear deck lid, apron and heat shield done and in paint, I will post the finished results.
