It's a Swedish spec '64 - I think it's L87 Pearl white - I've not checked the code yet, I'm just waiting for a battery to arrive from the factor across the way then I'll get it in the workshop and have a poke around.

The interior is a place of great beauty, it's a 2 tone grey striped fabric and it's perfect Smiley

Like this:

Cheesy

But with side trim, no sunroof and a stock decklid and interior. I can't bring myself to ruin it's finest points Smiley Also, unless I win big in Vegas it'll probably be Flat 4 BRMs - I'll spend that money on Italian IDAs before I buy proper wheels Smiley

I'm just going to sort the brakes and get it registered first though - I've never had a stock bug before so it'll be a new experience for me! We think it's been off the road since 1982 so stopping power isn't so great  Shocked

Matt

If you are planning to loose the side trim let me know. I have a space for some to go over the top of some Aussie flash trim.

Cheers

I'm painting new brake and steering bits - it has no brake hydraulics at the moment so I'm putting a set of cylinders, a master cylinder, front shoes and flexi hoses on it so it will stop as well as go. It's not very exciting photo wise I'm afraid.

Are you removing the rear gravel guards? That would look cool.

I called round to Mats workshop on friday night to have a look round his latest purchase.....Its frickin' beautiful!
I spent about 5 minutes just opening and closing the doors, the interior is just perfect and the engine bay is thing of beauty!

I will definetly be round again this week to make sure hes lowered it,sounded like he might have been having second thoughts.

Not yet - they're rivetted on, the Sweedes just love accessories! It used to have a bank of spotlights on the front as well, rally style  Grin Work has stopped play for now, customer's cars keep jumping the queue Smiley

Cool... I'm sure it's going to look quite nice when you're able to get back to working on it. Looking forward to seeing progress pictures of it all. Such a beautiful car.

Sorry for the lack of updates! A busy work schedule and the speed officialdom work at has seen to that. Today these arrived though:

The office:

I've put about 20km on it in the last 24 hours, including a high speed dash to get to our workwear supplier before they shut for the weekend. Aside from spitting out a silencer

It's a good job really as our "modern" company car (an '89 16 valve GTI) is temporarily out of action with a defective alternator pulley that Volkswagen have had to order from Germany.

Here's the guilty Golf in question on the day the Bug was delivered.
