How much weight would I expect to save by changing the glass in my Ghia to plastic?

Thanks,

Russ

A fair bit - have you ever tried picking up a set of windows? There's something in the weight saving thread about lexan windows, it might say on there how much a Beetle set is. I'm guessing that a Ghia won't be far off, as the front and rear screens are bigger, even though the sides are smaller.

Paul Woodhead at Direct Plastics- would highly recommend. I had to move my bug glass rear screen today and at a guess reckon it could be as much as 3 times as heavy as plastic. Definately worth doing Wink

Cheers Martin.
I've actually managed to get hold of a sheet for only a few quid, I was just curious to see where installing it might leave me as I'm still just over 800Kg, I'm aiming for 750kg.
