My "built" transaxle had been leaking from the side covers since it was rebuilt. I was disgusted with the entire situation, so I let the car sit for about a month, and now I really feel like getting it back on the road. Grin I pulled the engine last weekend and I am going to pull the trans this weekend.

The trans is going back to the shop to be resealed and hopefully my head porter can put my motor on the dyno and really dial it in. My goal: To have the car running by June, so that my friend and I can drive our cars to the VW Classic. Happiness is a Hot VW!!

Anyone else currently dusting some cobbwebs off a neglected car??

Similar story here, car's been neglected a while. Towards the end of last year the gearbox started to unwind itself and the whining was getting to be louder than the motor so in the end it got parked. Worked out a job list for it and have been getting bits together since, with the box coming out it made sense to get a couple of other things done. It looks like the last few bits should all be here in the next few days so it should be back on the road within a few weeks. Looking forward to it but once that's all done there's a bunch of other stuff on it that also needs sorting...

Well I talked to my head porter and I am taking my motor to his shop in L.A. in two weeks. I get to see my motor on a dyno, which should be awesome!! I will try and get some video and pics.

I've done more to my car in the last two weeks then I have in two MONTHS. Grin
Thanks for the compliments!!
