Wheels are going to look good on your Car you will have to watch because the Torque Thrust have a Different Offset  and on some cars will stick out Narrowed beam time you could go disc's?

On a pre 67 you should be fine when mounting te torkers... I'm using a stock beam and short axles and have no problems...

Porsche Caps Look Great On The Wheels To I Dont Know Why JGE Made such a Tall Cap in the first place The Caps stick out to far Anything is an improvement over what they come with Do you have  enough room for the Dust cap and axle nut to clear the cap?

Hey,

Yeah there is loads of room front and rear behind the caps. The front wheels sit in front of 14mm spacers in order to clear the calipers against the back of the spokes. These pics show just how much clearance is there...

back...

front...

As always, more updates on the car can be seen on my thread over on Volkszone...

So what was the general opinion of the Americans back in the day?  Clearly they were quite rare......were they considered way cool or were they too goofy to be accepted in the late 70s/early 80s?

The Original Vw Big 5 Bolts american are very rare I have heard they made less then five hundred wheels I know they made Way More BRM's  in 1975 when I was in the Orange County Clubs and hung out There I can only think of about 4 cars were running American's  and the same sets seem to be sold and end up on another car there have never been very many cars with them The Set On my Red Oval I bought from a Guy in Keep On Buggin VW Club from Long Beach back in 1977 I paid $550.00 for 5 Wheels with Original Lugs and Knock Offs I Sold that Car in 1994 for $10,000 it went to Japan Today The Wheels are going for $8,000 a set of 4  I did Keep the spare  when I sold the car
