I thought I'd ask this question here rather than one of the other forums frequented by the Buffers as I've seen some of things said about how installing seatbelts will ruin a '50s VW! I'd rather be safe.

I'm looking to install 3point seatbelts in the front of my '58 bug and lap belts in the rear.

Is anyone able to measure the position of the front centre mount for me (on the tunnel) and also the height of the mount on the B pillar on a mid '60s bug (although the semaphore boxes on the '58 may cause a problem with space for a mount).

Also does anyone have a photo showing where the mounts are under the back seat; I'm keen to get close to what the factory did in later years.

Many thanks

Not sure how relevant this info is concerning modern 3-point belts, but it may be useful in some way...

Also, not sure if the points in a US '66 would be the same as early, otherwise I would take some pics for you.
There has been many discussions on the subject on that other site linked above. You might try a search there.

Hi 61Snrf; I didn't know the bulletins even existed.  I now probably have enough information for the front now.

Thanks
