We have a customer that went through several combinations (very close to stock) on a 356 kit ...
Finally, when the last burned up a cam, he decided to go for more.
I put together a 76X90.5 (1955cc ... perfect for this kit
), 40X35.5 with mild portwork and chambers by myself, 40idfs choked down to 32, and an Engle 120 with HD Berg-modded stock rockers .... compression set at 8.8:1.
As posted earlier, would run 'on the snubbers' through 3rd gear. An absolute BLAST to drive!
Guy still has it ... this was 3 years ago! Runs the crap out if it at all times and nary a problem after all those miles! ... only normal maintenance, couldn't ask for more ...
I'm thinking those cars can't weigh in at much over 13-1400 (?).
BUT, still rather run a Spyder ... now we're talking FUN
