I was looking at various types like Redline CV, Swepco 101, Bel Ray, Neo 500 and wondering what kind to use.  I hate doing this messy job so I want to do it once then not have to see those things for a long time.

My local shop had some that comes in a white plastic "bag" with a VW part number on it.

That one.

It is close enough for me.

Brandon,
We use Redline CV-2 or Swepco 101 Moly, your choice.

I take the joints off the axles to clean & reassemble. Lay flat on cardboard, then wrap a 36mm socket with plastic and insert into the tube ... instant grease gun that fits the cage of the cv joint. Use a long extention on the socket to get the last bit out of the tube!
Works great, only takes a few seconds and minimal clean up! Wink
