Guys,

Can you give me your thoughts and advice on fitting one of these units to my bug please.

I have a dual circuit master cylinder where the master cylinder feeds the rear bakes via a T piece out back and the fronts appear to T from the master cylinder itself.

The Hurst diagrams I printed off seem to show all dual cct systems with a brake bias unit ( which I don't have ) so am guessing the single circuit diagram is closer to what I need...?

So on the Solenoid unit itself their are four ports. An upper which marked as M which is the inlet path from the master and then 3 outlets - can I use these outlets to T off to each front brake and blank off the third Huh   Rather than blanking off two of them and just using one into an external inline T piece.

Are there any differences in performance ? ie less pressure if I use the solenoid ports to T to each front brake rather than external inline T ......?

Thanks, Shane.

mine has the M fed from the master cylinder and one front port on the master cylinder blocked.

The line loc then has one port blocked and the two other ports feed the left and right front brakes.

The rear brakes feed from the master cylinder and are independent of the line loc.

Hey Lids,

Ok cool, that is exactly how I figured on installing it  Grin - do you know what size / thread plug I need to blank off on the master cylinder ?

Doing it that way did you retain a nice firm pedal and good locking ? ( ie it didn't go spongy or soft etc )

Cheers,Shane.

Same way as Lids. Size for plug I believe is 10x1.

Perfect pedal no problems.

Shane,
thread is 1/8 npt in line lock, usually you get a spare/blank with the linelock?for the master cylinder[m10x1] you can use an extra brake light switch to block the extra hole,it should feel exactly the same as before when finished, the fluid is just flowing through it until you activate it

Thanks Richie for that info. Yes there was a spare / blank plug with the lineloc. Good idea with the spare / extra brake light switch to use as a hole blocker, now why didn't I think of that  Huh  Grin
