Increased ethanol in pump fuel – should we be worried?

So here I am reading a piece of news that is telling me that ethanol levels in fuel are set to rise above 10% in 2013, and that this amount of ethanol greatly increases the chances of engine damage. Should I be worried about my daily driven 1776?

I`m runing my engine on 85% Etanol and see no problems apart from the increase in HP.

I understand the problem is more to do with rubber hoses and seals. We might need to run teflon hoses.

This news piece is talking about internal engine and pipe corrosion.

above 10% in regular unleaded? sounds a lot to me.
One of the thigns about high levels of ethanol apart from it destroying certain materials is it also breaks down certain residues that may already exists such as gum and rust in pipes, could be an issue with poor filtering.

Apparently it is what the EU are doing and it starts in 2013. Above 10% ethanol content in pump fuel.
