Ex-Phil French Old School 67 For Sale

1967 Black Plate California import into UK in 2009. Consistent high 12 sec 1/4 mile car in the USA, my best ET is 14.6 at the recent UK Cal Look Drag Day with some pretty poor starting manoeuvres!!

Ultra VW feature in May 2012 and used as a poster in that edition. Ex-DKP car (Phil French) who I believe was in the DKP between 2000 and 2002. Still sporting historical touches such as the DKP rear window sticker and Speedwell decal given to Phil by Gary Justus.

Very, very solid California car (unwelded) with excellent performance, yet driveable on the street. Paint not perfect but very presentable with some well earned dings and dents as a result of hard use on the road and drag strip.

So it is fully clear this is NOT a show car, although it has great potential to be if that is your thing!

2276 Steve Tims motor and most likely will come with a Pro Street box as the current Transwest box will go in my new 67. Full details of the car spec are available on request.

Ideally the car needs an external mesa oil cooler fitted in order to make it completely streetable (currently running decklid stand offs) but I have driven it 300 miles to race at Santa Pod with no issues.

As mentioned previously the car has it's fair share of dings and dents, including the floor pan due to some creative(!) jacking in the USA, but I am maybe being very critical of my own car as it sure is one of the coolest rides around!

Has six months MOT, but can get another twelve put on if required and I will replace a front ball joint that has worn before sale. (Advisories last MOT were: Not Standard Suspension, Not Standard Exhaust, Not Standard Tyres, Not Standard Engine - LOL)

Recent oil and plug change ready for VW Action that was unfortunately rained off.

I am looking for a quick sale as my next car is already purchased so will invite offers around £9000.00, however please be aware I am seeking a worthy owner who is a full on Cal Look aficionado and will appreciate the car for what it is (including the USA history) and take good care of it (hence I posted it on here first!).
