Hello guys,
I just drove my car for the first time with the IDA's instead of the turbo...
I must admit... the power is less, but the famous bark makes up for it Smiley

Any reason for the short turbo career?

Hey Kalle,
I spent 1,5 year working on it,
only to have more and more shit.... like breaking parts...
I wanted to drive my car more and less working on it...
so thats why i chose to go with IDA's instead...
it was a street with no end...
the turbo crap may end on my volvo 940 who knows Smiley
those motors are way cheaper if you blow them up

Sorry to learn about your problems. It is strange considering that a turbo engine is generally speaking less tuned/modified compared to a good NA engine. Smaller heads, less compression etc.. Anyway, the important thing is that youre able to rip the streets and scare the guy in the other lane.

Even though I am a die-hard turbo fan, I can't help agree about the  beautiful sound of IDAs on song. Every time I drive a Bug with them the hair stands up on the back of my neck. When I used to work for a historic racecar company, we looked after one of the '69 Ford France GT40s, probably worth millions today. We used to test drive it after working on it as it was road legal. The sound of 4 IDAs coming on song on a V8 is something that has been locked forever in my little brain... Shocked

damn, i had to bring up this post again.

i took the new car for a spin this morning and i must say i am impressed with the sound of the IDA's. it may be that the lack of interior, silencing material and carpet add to it all, but this car has a mean grunt to it. when i drove it home i did it all very nicely and quietly, but this morning i went to work which is 5 miles from home and it was quiet... was.

earplugs are my best friend now.
