I'd like to go to a Rennaisance Faire dressed up like a Star Wars stormtrooper or like the Robot from Lost in Space, walk amongst all the Robin Hoods and fairies in their sandals and crap, and say in a computer voice "take me to your leader"

I'd like to attend a stuffy coach-built VW event in a Kelmark GT or one of those MG-TC on a VW pan kits

Or a Porsche concours in a laser 917 kit car painted like Vic Elford's Le Mans car

or take some ugly, tacky 80's Kustom Kal Looker and stuff a 2500cc pro stock motor and go run DRKC with it

Or show up to Cruise Night in a Mulholland Looker. YEAH!

Great topic, Jim... those are some good one. I got to experience a little of what you're referring to at the 2000 Porsche Parade in Nor Cal. It's already posted somewhere on The Lounge. Nothing like showing up to the formal awards banquet in an orange Hawaiian shirt and Levi 501 jeans. Many stuffed shirts scoffed at me all night. Even more so when they found out that my daily driver beat out their garage queens in the undercarriage points. Good times.

Let's hear some more... keep this thread rollin'.

Arrive at Porsche Parade with a well-known 356 Carrera coupé – or better yet, a Carrera Speedster – and open the deck lid to reveal your new VW stroker motor...

Anna is 'outspoken' at times...  Roll Eyes
I do have to say, though, that for me and many others, the ratty Bus brigade have almost wrecked Bad Camberg. Sure, take them along – as a visitor – but park them elsewhere. Why ruin the longest-standing vintage show by turning up in mobile toilets? Camberg isn't a stuck-up concours like so many Porsche events, but a gathering of old friends and old cars. Let's keep it that way.

Hang on, I'm getting all serious... OK, as you were! Cheesy
