Hi all

The time has finally come to sell my engine and box. I'm trying not to write a massive long advert so I'll stick to the basics for now and anyone interested can contact me for further info/pics etc.

Engine :
2028cc type 1. Autolinea case with CB 044 ultra mag plus heads. 78.8 CB crank. Scat pro street rockers.
Everything was new when meticulously assembled/massaged/fettled/stroked by Mr Matt Keene of AirKraft.
Has only covered 3750 miles under the control of my sympathetic right foot.

Everything connected to the running of this engine is also included in the sale.
That means you get :
All injection parts - Jenvey throttle bodies, injectors, all sensors, DTA 48exp ecu, boost controller, coil pack, MSD leads, fuel lines, goodridge fittings, Fuelab regulator, 044 pump, full loom etc.
All turbo related parts - T34 airsearch turbo, CB manifold and wastegate, chargecooler, header tank, pump, pre-rad, water injection tank and pump.
Engine made 273bhp when it was first mapped but I was to it could break 300 with larger injectors. It's perfectly civilised, no flat spots and has never overheated or let me down.

Gearbox :
Rancho Pro Drag. Close ration 3rd and 4th. Again bought new and only covered 3750 miles with NO burnouts.
As with the engine, everything associated with the box is included.

So you'll get : CSP trapeze bar, Rhino mounts, berg mid mount, sway a way long axles and tubes, KYB dampers. I'll even throw in my Bugtech style shifter (homemade).

Now for some pics :

Complete engine :
[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Crank trigger on notched berg pulley by John Mayer. Note breather pipe behind and engine Number Keene 005
[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Custom breather box by Pete Bolas, Mikalor clamps on polished tubing.
[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Chargecooler top and water injection point
[ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]

More pics to follow.

Engine and box are still in my car at present so can be seen/heard. I may even put my second seat in so serious buyers can go for a test drive (me driving though).

Price - £6000 for the engine.
         - £1500 for the gearbox
Or £7000 for both

I'm in South London and will possibly be at apex festival next weekend (weather/work depending), so if your interested, come say hi.

Reason for sale - I have another engine and gearbox patiently waiting to be fitted and I need these gone before work/cutting can commence.

Thanks for looking and have a great day

Cheers
Darren

Price drop for the start of a new week !!

After a lot of consideration over the last few days I've decided to drop the price of the complete running engine with all parts as listed before to £5500

I've decided to keep the gearbox for the time being as it will make pushing the car around and loading it onto trailers a lot easier.

Any questions you've got, details you require, pictures you want taken or info you need, feel free to ask.
The engine is still in the car at the moment, fully running and ready to drive.

Please consider that this is a lot more than simply an engine with carbs and an exhaust. There are lots of additional parts that will be sold with it. More work for me to get it all out but more parts for your money  Wink

Have a great week everybody

Thanks
Darren

Sunny Monday Morning Bump !!

Ok, I've been giving the sale of my engine some thought over the weekend. Lots of views but only 2 interested people (hi guys).
I realise it's a big chunk if money but it's also everything you'll need from fuel pump to exhaust tip. In my mind a complete running engine was more appealing than parts of an engine that still needs a mix and match of parts to complete.

So how about this as an alternative :

Anybody interested in :

1) 2028cc long block, or
2) All injection/turbo parts (ecu, loom, sensors, jenveys, chargecooler, turbo etc)

Any questions or details required - fire the PM cannon my way  Cheesy

Thanks

WOW - over 1300 views and it's still here.

Is it too expensive ? - it's a big chunk of money I guess
Is it too fast ? - surely not
Is it not cal-look ? - yeah it's certainly not ida's and a brown cap bosch 010 but where would we be if we all built the same engine ?

Some more details :

Peak power was 270bhp @ 6024rpm
Peak torque was 247 ft/lb @ 5342  (no need for high revs people, my shift light is set at 6100rpm and rev limiters both soft and hard are enabled via the ecu)
This was with the AEM water/methanol injection set to start at 10psi boost and be at full pressure by 18psi (it has a variable controller)

Engine CR is 7.8:1. Setrab external oil cooler and all pipework and goodridge fittings are also included (no jubilee clips here).

Millers CFS 15/60 oil has always been used with an external filter (Fram) with a thermostat in line to the oil cooler.

Heads - CB 044 ultra mag plus 42x37 valves.
Case was a new auto linea, drilled, tapped and clearanced by Matt Keene.
Crank is a CB super race crank - 78.8mm stroke with VW journals.
Rockers are Scat pro street - 1.25
Rods are CB super race rods -  Vw journal - 5.400" length.
Barrels and pistons are both Mahle with total seal pro piston rings
Chromoly push rods and CB racing pushrod tubes.
8mm chromoly head studs and straight cut cam gears
Engle TCS20 cam
CB thinline sump with turbo drain back
All bearings and case hardware supplied by Matt Keene at AirKraft (only uses good quality)

All parts were new and blue printed by Matt also

The chargecooler set up was custom made. The header tank was hand made out of aluminium and uses a bosch pump to circulate water through the chargecooler core (custom made and polished housing) and through another Setrab cooler with a fan fitted then back to the header tank. Throttle body base plates reworked to allow for difference in hight between the jenveys and Dellortos previously used.

MSD spark plug leads are custom length back to the wasted spark coil pack (spare included) mounted inside away from the heat.
Crank trigger on a custom stainless mount with breather reads from a notched berg pulley (by JMR racing) with berg pulley nut.
Breather tower is connected to both rocker covers and the fuel pump block off and distributor vent. Breather tower is internally baffled and the cap has a breather element inside that can be removed and cleaned/replaced. All hand made (inc cap) by Pete Bolas.

All injection parts were bought new including sensors and 44mm Jenvey throttle bodies. Loom professionally made by DTA.
Injectors are pico type to reduce their physical size.
Fuel pump is a bosch 044 with filter and Fuelab pressure regulator.
Turbo is a AirResearch T34 equivalent with a short stainless outlet (no way it's a muffler but it does get the gasses out fast)

There are probably more details that I've forgotten so if you want to know anything in particular, feel free to ask.

Have a good weekend, thanks for looking and I'll leave you with the words of Jerry Springer - "look after yourself, and one another"
