i have a set of unused Gene Berg 325 lifters that i got about 10 years ago......it seems to me that no-one is using these, is it because the Berg stuff today isn't quite what it was?  how about these older ones??

am i fortunate to have these because they're older stock? with reference to various pitting problems of some? or am i better of trading them for some CB ones or even saving up for some Udo's??

how do you think they'd be on my fk89'd cnc comp elim headed 2276??

should i stick or twist?

cheers men!

Thats a good question Jick, especially as everybody i speak to seems to have problems with pitted followers.  You know I am very tempted by the beckers but look at the price dude.....

UBT lifters 94 gramm

    * These lifters are made by Udo Becker tuning for all engines with high performance valve springs.
    * They are compartible with all billet flat tappet cams, except all steel or hard welded cams.
    * Can be used from single to chevy style springs
    * We don't recommend any breakin.
    * One set can be used with different cams.

price: 280,- € set of 8

     UBT lifters 60 gramm

    * These lifters are made for high performance engines using single or inner and outer springs.
    * With this light weight lifters you don't need high spring pressure.
    * We have run these lifters up to 8000 rpm with inner and outer springs like Gene Bergs.

Preis: 580,- € set of 8

Anybody got an answer?

What about those Wizemann lifters? Are those any good?
Do they still make those? And more importantly where can I get those?

Witzemann lifters are no longer avaliable . The Berg ones are the same quality than scat or others . It was 11 years ago when i first used chevy springs in my race engine and i thought about using aftermarket lifters for an engine that does not make much miles . I tried all , Gene berg , Scat , Buckpack . All got pittings and the cam got flat . So i followed the instructions that i got from the suppliers , i put my engine in my street car and drove with outer springs only , no good result. Then i saw no other way to use the lightweight expensive lifters from witzemann . They are now 11 years old and look like new . The Bergs are the only company that tell you about this problem with their cam and lifters , if you buy them you have on your bill that they don't garranty that  they work .
My lifters are more expensive because i don't get them from China or Tiwan in thousants of sets at one order . they are manufactured here in Germany in the same quality than the witzemanns . The lightweights are very expensive to manufacture and they are made for light springs and more rpms . I make the new ones more stronger for using with chevy springs .
For using outer springs only the Bergs will do their job .

Regards Udo
