Ok, anybody have any pics of there set-up on the full flow before putting the shroud on?? Outlet is ok, it's the inlet. You Type III guys, you put the 90* up with a 45* or down?? Its tight!!!!!!

Ted I did one a long long time ago. I don't remember much, but I think I used a slightly clearanced Berg 90 with another Berg 90 and I do remember having to manicure the shroud some and siliconing up the small window I had to make. This was 23 years ago so it's foggy now.

I did one about six years ago and I can't remember all the twists and turns I had to do to get it to fit.  Just get some 90's and 45's and straight nipples and start fitting things together.  Have patients.  I know not much help, but have fun.

i know it is much easier to enter the case from the bottom plunger on a type3. CSP makes a bolt on adapter that you can use in order not to tap and block of the main gallery.

I used the csp adaptor as well. One thing to keep in mind is that you delete the original cooler this way. I mounted a remote cooler with fan next to the transaxle with a real wax element thermostat in between. Havent used the fan yet.
this way I could mount the fanhousing without any clearancing.

I know that I am late to the party....

But for somebody down the road that does the search thing there is also this option....
The side flow conversion from Brothers Machine.
They weld a set of bungs onto the side of the case, Mag or Alum and you no longer have to mickey mouse it to the oil cooler.

There is a plug that is threaded down the galley and sits between the holes.
No more oil pump mods or nasty fittings mazes to build.

Here is a screen shot of the machine costs...


I plan to have them do this mod for the 2332 that I have to build for my Square.  Grin

That Brothers T3 looks like a slick setup for type 3 full flow. I will have to do something like that and I was thinking that the wishbone would have to be modified along with running the CB flat style pump cover.

does anyone have photos of the brothers side setup installed in a type 3?

I am just curious to see with all the engine tin in place how lines ect... routes...

with my engine coming apart soon for some updates, I am running into an issue with the full flow, currently I have the filter off the left rear bumper bracket... however my new CSP exhaust uses hangers off the left & right bumper bracket locations...

these two can't occupy the same space, so the filter needs to be moved

Thats not a solution on my engine now, its bolted together!
And wouldnt have been easy to weld those bungs on a old vw-case!?
