i looks like there is a different problem on the car... i switched the 019 for a differenent one and and fired it up again. the engine was not comlpletely tuned as it run rich with the new vents, but i can't reach higher rpms when i drive it. by just hitting the trottle without load on the engine it responds ok, but when i drive it it seems to make a little soggy, squishy sound that there wasn't before...  Sad i am a bit worried now, but i will check compression and i guess i will have to take the engine out and have it all cleaned up and checked.

i looked at the pushrodtubes and no bent one there, but i haven't opened the valvecovers yet. maybe i can get around it this week.

117 main 200 air and the 52 idles, but i guess they cause it to be rich or there is a problem at one cylinder not functioning... that causes the rich, black smoke. i will install the 50 idles again and start it, i also found someone with a CR - meter who will check the CR on the engine.

doesn't look terribly off, I wouldn't touch the jetting until you have them sync'ed , float levels checked, fuel pressure, etc.

i checked the floats and pressure last week so those are ok. i ordered a sync gauge from csp today and hope to have it next week. so i can finally do this myself and not have to go to the shop all the time.
i will not worry yet but it seems to be a bigger issue as i thought at first... i had the carbs set up by the book so they would run, so now i need to see how they flow.

but if anyone had the problem before and knows what it could be i am willing to listen to what they have done.
