I don't do faceache - what have I missed? Worm, as you're a little bit more local to the show than most of us, how did it all go?

Funny, my FB is nearly VW free (other than the friends that own them).

I still like coming here, thesamba.com, and KCW for my fix.

I became a Camp Jumper and was the pit bitch for Red Baron Team -- -- It was the easiest job I ever had. There were 8 cars signed up for Outlaw Turbo.

There was heavy overcast first thing, and Grandma had sent Scott the 5.20 tune. But with the drizzle and the Baron heavily spinning the tires, their first pass was a 6.08... It was hard to tell how the engine was running as Bobby was shooting his limit of ducks all through the gears next to him. We got the car back to pits, Eric changed the plugs, Scott pulled some boost out of the tune, I watched as they added some gas and the car was ready for the next qualifier. On the next pass, Both cars staged, and I don't know what was going on with the starter, but both cars were on the limiter forever!!! They were on for so long that Eric backed off the throttle waited a second and then the lights went green. Eric hit the throttle and was off with a .4 reaction, but ran a 5.8X..... got the car back to the pits, added some gas and Eric declared that was enough of that qualifying shit, so we waited for eliminations. There were probably well over 100 cars racing, 300 cars in the car show and a 100 stalls at the swap meet. This was a HUGE turnout compared to the Bug-o event the month before. So I had an early lunch and walked the show and the swap meet.

First round of eliminations the Baron drew Bobby, who was still fighting the misfiring issue. Both cars staged and again it took forever for the lights to turn green. Again Eric backed off the limiter about the same time it turned green, but both cars had lousy lights and Eric ran a 5.6X putting Bobby on the trailer. Brought the car back to the pits, added gas and the Baron ready for round 2.

Next round, the Baron drew Sean Geers. Eric came up with a plan on how he was going to react to the slow greens. Both cars staged, and again almost 6 seconds before the bulbs lite, but this time Eric kept the rev's way down and just hit the throttle at the green. Both cars left hard but Geers did a hard left towards the wall and shut off. Eric didn't see anybody and shut off at about 400' and ran a 5.9X. Brought the car back, added gas, ready for the finals.

For the finals, we had Tony in his hauling buggy. AGAIN the lights took forever to light, but Eric had a great leave and put down a 5.4x for the event win. Drove the car onto the trailer.

What an easy day being the pit bitch, hooked up the tow strap 10 times, pulled the nose off 5 times for fuel, pulled the rear fenders off one time to change the plugs, and ran my mouth until my jaw hurt...... Got to hear all the old stories too !!!!

If racing could only be this easy all the time.... Thanks to the Red Baron Team for putting up with me and letting me play with them...... Good times

100 cars racing, 300 cars in the car show and a 100 stalls at the swap...

Sound like the allure/hype surrounding the return of the original Bug-In has subsided finally.  I last attended in 2008 and 2005 respectively, and I remember here being 200-plus race cars and somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 show cars. Don't remember the swap details, but tons of vendors in vendor row.

There was probably one quarter that amount of participation at Bug-o and only 1 vender -- -- After going to the Bug-o event, I thought that this event was HUGE, and those are just my estimates, I could be way wrong ......

In fairness, the 2005 event was going to be huge naturally being the return of the event and then there was a three-year absence until the 2008 running, so that likely built some of the hype.  But I am surprised to hear the Bug-O-Rama turnout was that low?

The organizers of Bug-o can only piss off just so many people before it starts to effect the gate

After showing up at the Bug-o last month at 5:30am and being disappointed with both the show and especially the swap, I chose to sit this one out and save my money and time away from the fam for the Classic. I would much rather hit all the events that weekend and hopefully a much bigger show/swap.

I have the "feeling" that the classic will be disappointing to you, because almost everyone I'm talking to will be at Prado...... just what I'm "hearing"
