For sale is my 1200cc 1983 mexican beetle its mars red with golf gti style interior from factory, the body and floor pan is rot free and does not need any welding, the only thing done is to clean up and reseal/paint any areas that needed doing.

Its been in the uk since 1993.

The paint work is ratty and has had paint work in the past.

The brakes have been upgraded with all new parts, discs and drums are Porsche pattern, converted to race length press in studs and has a hurst  line lock is fitted.

Has drop spindles and CSP beam adjusters, caster shims, standard sachs shocks up front, the rear has polyurethane torsion arm bushes, avo adjustable shocks, limiting straps, gearbox is solid mounted with funkenblitz style brace bars to body.

Front wheels are 4 1/2" JBW fuchs copies.

Rear wheels are design 911 7" ultralite 911R fuchs copies.(cost £700!)

Gearbox is a pro comp with a spool, Rhino bearings, close ratio, twin heavy duty side plates, gusseted and oil drain plug welded. later three bolt nose cone and race shafts from cogbox.

Injection style fuel system with fuel return running a 1bar pump, billet pump mount and billet filter, injection to carb fuel regulator, all braided fuel hose all with -6 fittings.

MSD 6al ignition. adjustable rev limiter and msd billet dizzy.

Autometer monster tach with shift light, vdo oil pressure, volt meter and oil temp gauge apart from this the interior is all standard.

VW water boxer engine converted to air cooled built my Steve Dalton with the help of Sean Geers and Jeff Denham, was rebuilt last year with all new bearings. seals, arp rod bolts and bigger cam fitted. Lifter bores bronzed bushed to suit type1 solid lifters, shuffle pins on centre main and inserts in stud holes. 86mm welded wbx crank, type 1 fixing by DPR. 200mm vw flywheel modified by Heads up for type4 dia thrust shim. 5.5 cb performance H beam rods with chevy journals. Kennedy stage 2 clutch cover. scat 5 3/4 power pulley. Steel backed 2 and 3 main bearings. All balanced. Bugpack billet 30mm oil pump and cover. FK48 engle cam. (clearanced scat core) Scat lifters.Venoila 101.6 pistons (balanced) with match honed AA cylinders 

Angle flow cylinder heads (58mm inlets 7mm stems and 38mm exhaust 8mm stems) dr7ea spark plugs. Manley Ti retainers and keepers, k800 springs. all machine work and full port/polish by Jeff Denham. Angle flow IDA manifolds match ported by Jeff Denham. Scat 1.4 ratio rockers with the exhaust side rocker pads welded and widened to suit angle flow heads all work done by Gene Bergs. Manton push rods and CSP tubes.

1 7/8" sidewinder style header with a 2" V band with a choice of 2 1/2" dynomax muffler and cherry bomb style muffler, all custom made to fit under beetle bodywork and all ceramic coated.

Italian 48IDA's machined to 51.5 with 46mm venturis, 3.0 needle and seats, -6 pro fuel inlets, 3rd progression holes and set screws to hold aux vents in place, Bugpack angle flow linkage, carbs rebuilt and all work done by Jaycee.

Scat 36hp style fan shroud, welded fan and modified tinwear. mocal oil cooler with fan.

2789cc, 10:1 compression, 219hp/217tq at rear wheels (260hp @ F/W), engine has run a 7.62 sec 1/8 mile in a street car with stock gears and road tyres

Very quick bug that's street legal and not for the faint hearted! It has never been run up the strip (though the engine has in the states) or been to any shows.

Very regrettable sale but I don't use it enough (twice this year!).
