Early Porsche Steering Hoop

Anyone have experience using a early 911/12 Porsche Steering hoop in a beetle?

Does it fit right on ? Do you like the offset of the wheel?

It will fit the splines but won't work as is.  I had a spacer made similar to this one.

Then I had another piece machined to hold the stock vw turn signal cancellation ring.  I like the 180mm fit and offset.

i've  the VDM empi riverside 500 , i don't machined anything and fit correctly on my 61 , but i 've used a 65 steering columm with 65 tube , and use my 61 flashing arms , ( it's a 58 model)

Here's mine....
As mentioned the wheel will it the column splines, but the plastic shroud will need to be removed from the rear of the steering wheel.
What I did was cut down the shroud so that 3/4mm of the splines were showing, then greased up the rear of the wheel and filled the shroud with epoxy resin after inserting a turn signal cancelling 'thing' from an old Bug steering wheel.
