Hi all - need a bit of advice if possible please.

I'm currently running 205/65/15 tyres on the rear of my Oval with 26 11/16" length race axles.

I want to fIll the arch a bit more with the tyre and was thinking maybe i'll run a 10mm spacer to get the tyre out a bit more. My question is, will that stress the axle too much - effectively adding length?

Should have said, I would just run a wider tyre but I'm already only a couple of mm off the adjuster on the spring plates with the 205/65's hence thinking about spacers

If I'm thinking of the right car, you've got Gasburners? Maybe a swap to Fuchs with a different offset would allow you to position a wider tyre where you want it?

I can't see a 10mm space causing any issues. Deep six fuchs with short axle always need a spacer IMO to get the wheel to sit right in the arch

I have run with 10mm spacers for years with no problems and have seen spacers on other quick cal lookers. I think the area I would pay attention to , would be the wheel studs, as they have the extra leverage acting on them, high quality m14 press in studs might be worthwhile.

I have m14 press in studs already in so thats no prob. Interesting about the Fusch's Neil and Lee (yep, got the right car Neil, I'm on GB's) I have been toying with the idea of changing to those. The offset quite different is it?

Burners do tuck in a bit more iirc. I like the burners on your car, experiment with spacers, just make sure your studs are long enough Smiley

Handy chart for reference, mahle gas burners are same as 5.5 fuchs I think or maybe 45mm vs 42mm et.

Mahles & 5½" Fuchs both have 42mm offset.
