Alright.  Grin

It was 1995 late summer and the Aufklarung VW Club had been around for a few months and after getting thrown out of every other location and we started having our monthly meetings at the chain restaurant Lyon's on Hopyard Road in Pleasanton. After our meeting every body would go out to the parking lot, bench race for a hour or 2 rile each other up and end up leaving sideways with all the old people giving us dirty looks. Even Sean Dorman's bus would leave smoking the hides.

One particular meeting I concocted a prank to pull on Jim. A few weeks prior, I happened across 2 wide 5 Porsche nipple caps with the emblems removed and 3 spoke spinner knock off in their place, ala Grease Lightning or Death Race 2000. Jim having the fastest car in the club, and always leaving spinning the tires and running Porsche Chromies with no hub caps seemed a perfect target for the prank.

During the meeting, I snuck outside and popped these bad boys onto his passenger side wheels so he wouldn't notice. I thought for sure during our ritual after meeting bench race BS session he would notice them and get a few laughs with the rest of us that were already aware. Well, he never noticed and was one of the first to leave. All the rest of the club members started to antagonize him to light em up and he was more than happy to give us an 8000 RPM tire boiling burn out onto Hopyard road. He had no idea he had those stupid looking hub caps on the passenger side of his car.

I thought for sure I would get a nasty message on my answering machine but I heard nothing. A few weeks went by and I assumed he was so embarrassed that he never brought it up, so I asked him what happened to the caps and he acted like he never saw them.  I still have my doubts that he did see them but doesn't wan to admit it Cheesy
