Guys,

I want to have rear disc brakes on my car when it's done, because i'm going to do a lot of road with it and i don't rely on 145' to stop the car...

My setup is short axles and porsche 5*130 pattern. So i ordered at CSP what seemed to be the perfect kit but when it arrived, it was a kersher kit wich is designed for long axles.

Friend of mine told me about neal, and I can't seem to find good info about them, price, look...

Yeah, look, because i don't want grooved and drilled discs on my callooker.

So, any ideas?

i have the CB porsche pattern kit for short swing axle. works really well,braking is vastly improved. i got the kit with the press-in studs as they don't wind out if you change wheels often. you can order them from CB with whatever length studs you like so you can fit spacers to space out your fuchs/gasburners.  i got the "race strength" kit which had nice beefy hubs

I have 1 set (NEAL 5 x 130 rear brake kit) on order for one of my customers.

the disc kit will still fit, you just have to machine the snout of the disk down by about 12mm or so. i have fitted quite a few of these kits and have found them to be one of the best. cheers deano

Thatīs exactly what Iīd recommend. When I changed the suspension from IRS to short spline swingaxle, I had to machine some mm off the CSP wide 5 rear hubs and it was no problem at all. BTW: when my oval ran on fuchs I used a Kerscher rear disc break, too and was really happy with it (although the CSP 5x205 set-up is even better).

The difference is 16mm or 5/8" from long to short axle splines.

I have the CB race strength 5 x 130 brakes on my other 67. The thing I did not like was the kit used 1/2"-20 UNF threaded studs instead of M14x1.5. So I pounded them out, reamed the hubs to 37/64" or 14.5mm and pressed in Sway-A-Way studs. I got them from Sheep @ Buggy House about 9 years ago.

They were press in, but American threaded studs instead of Metric. I wanted to run original alloy lug nuts on my Fuchs, not shitty 1/2-20 chrome cheapies.

But the thing is, because the bearing housing is different between a long and a short axle, even if I remove 16mm from the lenght of the disc, is the caliper going to be lined up with the disc?

You remove 16mm from the spline snout. The caliper stays were it is.
