for you D7EA guys

We were out of D7EA's at work the other day, but had the Bosch cross refernced plugs in stock....X5DC.
The Bosch plug has a projected nose, forcing electrode farther into chamber. When I was tuning stockers years ago, one trick I learned to get some more response from them was to run a W8BC or W7BC instead of "AC", meaning a projected nose plug. It would certainly sharpen up the idle and throttle response on a stocker or a Kadron motor. I have read that forcing the plug into the chamber further, is like advancing timing, and like having more "squish" in deck.
Anyway, for you D7EA guys, you might try the Bosch plugs next time around.

It doesn't send threads out into the chamber, does it? That's a no-no in the Fisher book, causing detonation.

no threads are the same length just the ceramic nose and electrode protrudes.

Should be ok for N/A but projected tip is a no no for nitrous &turbo applications,

Thanks Jim, I'll try them. I've always been a big advocate of projected nose plugs!

Cool, maybe I'll grab a set some time. I"m going to expand my jet collection soon and I'll be due for new plugs.

sure John. Me too, seems the projected nose plugs in the little stockers sure woke them up. Let me know if you can't find the Bosch anywhere. The OE application was the old E30 BMW M3, S14 engine.
We have them here.

Jim have you compared the Bosch versus the DP7EA (the projected tip version of the D7EA)?
