Hey guys,

I don't understand why is it needed and when is it needed to sleeve lifter bores on a new VW crankcase?

I guess the sleeve would wear and not the case - meaning these sleeves could be replaced if any wear occurs - Saving the case Smiley

Mag is soft and is a pretty lousy material for, well, anything- it is light though and that is cool.

Aluminum is hard
Silicon Bronze is hard
Both make stronger/better lifter bores.

(here's my pitch) Brother's VW in Ontario, CA did my last case in Silicon Bronze for less than a hundred bux.

does anybody have a picture of it when it is done?

so I stay with normal aftermarket lifters,or do I have to use any special lifters?

Another reason is tighter tolerances need for higher RPM's.
