I don't like this game. It's banned in my house unless you want to pick up a real instrument.

WTF is this about?

http://www.tmz.com/2008/03/12/we-dont-need-another-guitar-hero/

Someone made the Guinness Book over guitar hero??? Ugh.

Yeah. That episode was pretty sweet. I like how the kid played that song acoustically.

As a guitar player, I find this game completely and utterly stupid.  Maybe I am showing my age(37).

Why not just learn a REAL instrument instead of fondling a fake guitar for hours on end?

??

And I did grow up with video games.  My Atari 2600 was awesome.  Combat.

Not to be a fun nazi but I banned Guitar Hero from my house.
I tried playing it and it made me dizzy when I looked away from the screen - I had wicked motion sickness or something.
Being a musician myself I like to encourage more productive ways of spending time.
I don't mind if my bfs kid plays the radio or a cd in his room for hours and I don't mind him playing his guitar (learning) and sounding awful. Just as long as I don't have to hear him grunting and getting upset because he can't beat "Freebird" on expert level.
I wasn't raised in a house with video games...it's just brain melting bs.

That game is terrible, but the "Guitar Queer-o" episode of south park is brilliant. My favorite bit is the "Heroin Hero"game, where you all they do is chase a dragon thhrough the foprest, but can never catch it. I gave my 15 year old brother some grief when he spent a bunch of his christmas money on guitar hero instead of parts for the Bug we're supposed to be rebuilding for him to drive later this year. The only video game system I like is the Nintendo that I got in 1986 or so.
