No, and he didn't bounce checks either. This ass munch reminded me of Ron Howard's large fore headed brother only dirtier and wore 2" thick glasses.

Other fun pranks with him were calling from the back phone to counter phone and asking him for rings for an RX7. He'd dig feverishly through every catalog.... swearing and muttering... "why do I get all these hard phone calls....not fair!"

Nice... considering a lotta old Mazda cars had NO rings, being rotary engines. HAHA!!

no he typically wore t-shirts that were probably once white, but looked like they had been used to clean a goat pen.

One day he left an open soda can on the parts shelf behind us...unattended. bad move...
(we kept a secret bottle of Fleet liquid enema in hiding just for these open cans....). Guy spent all rest of day monaing and groaning in the bathroom.
Did the guy get fired, or did he just leave from the abuse?

Uncle Jim, that's got to be one of the funniest posts ever.  I'm surprised that you never charged condensers and left them in his pocket..........

I would imagine he left the job due to weight loss.

Back when we had condensers in cars, my auto shop teacher in high school (Mr. Hassenplug - no kidding - had only nine fingers.........) used to do that to us as a lesson.  Great teacher.

One story to let you know what he was about.  One of the students, Shaun Gibbs, would literally have his Courier pickup idling, five minutes before the end of period bell, ready to beat the lunch crowd out of the parking lot.  Having been warned numerous times by "Sparky" Hassenplug and not having heeded a one of them, Hassenplug sent him to the office to run an errand, five minutes before the bell.  Gibbs must have broken a record, running to the office and back.  When he arrived, the bell went off and he ran to his truck like LeMans.........put in the key, turned it.........WHAM!!!POP!!!!!!WHIRRRRRR>>>POP!!!!!

The teacher had changed his plug wires.  Lesson learned.

One of his mottos..........."If you want to fight in my class, you have to fight me first!"

You can charge a condenser and if someone should touch the lead wire and the metal shell of the condenser (ground), they will receive a shock.

Ol' Sparky put them in our lab coat pockets.  Put your hand in and ZAP!
