I am running Gas Burners with re-drilled drums on short axles and the tire just kisses the spring plate and upper body mount. Would a 5 mm spacer be acceptable on each wheel stud?

Convert to type 3 drums or rear discs. Get a little more track width and increase braking power.

a quality made hub-centric spacer will do , as long as your wheel studs are long enough .

porsche sell iirc 6mm and 17mm . people like ruf and techart sell various sizes .

if you follow zachs advice , and get the spacing right and upgrade the brakes in one swoop , this has got to be better than spacers .

Type 3 drums will give you about 1/2 inch or 13mm.

After measuring I don't have enough room on the studs for spacers so........I might swap for long axles or Type 3 brakes. 13mm would be perfect I just need to find some brakes.  Smiley
