More news in the UK, Gas up by 30% and Electric up by 15%.  In the process of trying to fix my bills for the next 12 months as it doesn't look like its coming down.

Same announcements overhere Lids, and forget about prices coming down. They will squeeze us out. One ltr. of petrol overhere is without Goverment tax about 68 Eurocent. At the pump you will pay more than DOUBLE. In the future i do a cruise on Sunday for an hour or two in the Bug and probably burn a 150.00 EU.

Weird... guess that it's different everywhere. Now, we're being told that gasoline prices will continue to drop. A few weeks back, it was as high as $4.47 gal. for Regular. Yesterday, my local ARCO station dropped their Regular to $4.07 gal. The oil companies can still make a lot of profit if they'd lower the prices back down to a couple of dollars per gallon. They'd make a killing on the volume. Right now, many people are driving less. I've noticed traffic and travel is down. My girlfriend's oldest son has worked at Disneyland for seven years and he's been telling us that the attendance has gone down, bigtime, in the recent weeks. Probably due to our crappy economy and most likely, gas prices.

As far as other energy prices, I doubt they'll ever drop. They'll probably keep climbing, as usual. I feel sorry for my kids and their kids... it's gonna be nuts for them to pay for things.

just sat down to work out my bills:

Old bill = £466.2 for 6 months

Price increase = £579.80 for 6 months for the same 6 months.

Fixed rate would be = £544.80 for the same 6 months.

And this doesn't include any future rises.

I live in Budapest (Hungary) nowadays and let me tell you, that people over here earn about 30% of UK salaries if they are VERY lucky.

My Electricity Bill is about 40% higher here than in Egland...

In England I had a 4 Bedroom Semi in Reading. Over here I have 2 Bedrrom apartment (75 sq mtrs)

Gas prices are pretty similar as well. It is about 25% more expensive than England.

I watch the news on SKY TV and can't belive I'm looking at Englands economy going so badly wrong.

Hungary is NO better and the EU have to constantly check all these Eastern European  'Memebrs' to check where the EU Money is going.

Effectively they are all Crooks and there seems little the EU can do about it.

Does anyone remember the lines from the Godfather (Film) 'keep your Friends close... but your Enemies closer...' that how the EU views Eastern Europe and with VERY GOOD REASON.

Things may seem bleak at home right now, but it could always be worse... Grin

It's not (yet) the oilcompanies i'm blaming, but the Suits. Like i wrote, more than 100% tax on a Ltr of Gasoline, you gotta be shitting me. Plus keep gas (heat) prices linked to oil prices... Maybe i will not see it, but people will go on the streets and chaos will happen.
