Anyone have some good interior pics of a standard car with a rag top? Mainly interested in how the headliner is done.

Thanks,

I haven't seen any in the flesh, but I imagine that they are set up the same way as the deluxe headliner, just minus a few pieces. You only use the center, square section of the headliner, and everything else gets painted.

That is what I am thinking. You can see it a little here:

I was hoping for some better pics. It seems like it would be a nice clean look.

The only thing you have to worry about is metal finishing the "hooks" on the C pillars, and I'm still not exactly sure if the seal is attached to the B pillars in the same fashion as a deluxe headliner. It does make for a clean, minimalist look though Smiley

my brother's got a '69 standard and the headliner "disappears" over the roof pillars if you know what i mean.
you can't quite see where it's mounted.

There are cardboard  pieces that are sewn on to the headliner, you tuck one down into the metal lip, and then you puuuuuuullll the other end in to the opposite lip. If it is sewn up perfectly, there will be no wrinkles Wink

That's the plan with my '67 someday... sort of. I think I will do it with gold cloth and diamond pleats with black thread though!! Shocked

Ohh geez... A long long time!! First priority is to get the GTV where I want it since it is so close, which mostly means Berg5 and the 88x82 motor. I just need lots of $$$$ Roll Eyes
I really want to have a garage with decent space before I (re)start on it. I catch myself daydreaming about building the chassis all the time... it will be a thing of beauty Smiley The headliner will work, it will be a bit loud, but it will work Wink The whole car will be black and gold. I think I'm going to pick up AssHulls old '67 shell, and combine it with what I've already got, should work out just about perfectly.

On second thought, maybe I don't want you to do my interior.  Wink
