Driving Hot VWs for 44 Years Strong!

« on: September 30, 2008, 08:34:59 am »

Here are some shots of the 67 Looker I built in 1995. It was on the February 1996 issue of Hot VWs for those of you who keep your back issues. I was stoked when I found out that a green car made the cover of HOT VWs. Never dreamed it would happen. Built the car as a complete pan off restoration...Cal Look project. Had a lot of great friends like Don Bulitta help me pull it together before an ISCA show, where the first time out at the WORLD of WHEELS it won "Compact Custom" against other RICE BURNERS.  It won the class three years in a row.

I have always liked that car a lot! The first out of state VW show I ever went to was Phoenix B-O-R in 1997 and it made quite an impression on me seeing in person a car that I liked reading about so much in HotVW's!

D.B.O. Not a club; a state of mind.

Great looking car, Rick. Probably a lame question... but do you still have it?

Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

Someone in the Phoenix area has it now, I saw it at a show last February.

Good bumping into you at Jerome a few weeks ago, Rick!

I have that issue thanks to Donny B. (Also has his car in it.)
