Here are some shots of chops I have done over the years. Unfortunately, people always came along and wanted to buy the bodies from me. They have ended up as street and drag cars both.

I have 3 Bugs and one Ghia to my credit.  All ended up in the hands of someone else to finish.  That is why I chose to buy a roller and finish it myself in my old age.   I love the look as it reminds me of the early H and I/Gas cars.

Here is the 3rd chop I did. I put it over one of Steve Rhodes (FRAMEWORKS) chassis with strut front end and coil over rear end. I ended up selling the body to one guy and helping convert a friends pan car to a chassis car when he bought the rolling chassis from me.

I agree on the love of the chop top look, a personal fan since 1989 and forever.  Great looking rides Rick. Look forward to see what you do with the Yellow on White one you have now.

I learned after the first two a better way to maintain the roof contour and not have a lot of warpage. The third chop picture is where I really dialed in on maintaining the top and window angles where I wanted them. It is the most time consuming body mod you can take on.

I don't have my GHIA pictures with me in Arizona right now. I have them stored at a home in UTAH. I  will bring them back the next time I am up there and post some shots.

I'd like to have another chopped car. The chassis car there looks spot on Rick, nice proportions. I love the chops on Tar Babe and Udo Beckers car - the lines just flow.

Where do you live?  Maybe I need to make a long VW road (oops maybe air) trip?  A top like the ones you see takes about 200 hrs to get it to finished metal. That is having done one and knowing where to make the cuts.
