Watch this! From the days when a 250GTO or a California Spyder was just another Ferrari, and SoCal really was SoCool...

Perfect... absofrigginloutely perfect.
My good friend Ken T owns and still drives his 1964 SWB California Spyder. Ken bought the car around 1974 from Circle Porsche in Long Beach. Ken was a Mercedes mechanic back then, on his way to work and spotted the Ferrari sitting in the back lot... he hung a quick u-turn to investigate. As it turned out, a Doctor had just traded it in on his and hers 911's... Ken struck a deal with the used car manager for the sum of $7000.00 (a tidy sum back then, but still a good deal).
I've had the pleasure of riding with him on a few trips including two trips to Riverside Raceway back when the Ferrari and Pantera owners clubs would rent the track for the weekend... I can still remember Ken running the car fairly hard, drifting out of the turns on it's Pirelli's and listening to the sound the V-12 makes at speed... Damn... what a ride...

To me, this is truly what cars and driving are all about. I am so envious!
